Privacy Policy.
Last updated: August 2026. Families trust us with their children — and with their information. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect and how carefully we look after it.
Who we are
Rangers Australia Incorporated (ABN 15 500 198 490) is a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC), running Royal Rangers across Australia since 1964. You can reach us at info@rangers.net.au or 12 Cullen St, Bundamba QLD 4304.
We are committed to handling personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
What we collect
We only collect the personal information we genuinely need to run a safe, well-organised ministry. Depending on how you connect with us, that may include:
- Contact details — your name, email, phone number and town, when you email us or use a form on this site.
- Family & membership details — collected by your local outpost when a young person joins: names, ages, emergency contacts and any medical or additional needs leaders must know to keep them safe.
- Leader details — screening information and working-with-children clearances, training records, and references.
- Supply House orders — the details needed to fulfil uniform, patch and material orders.
- Event registrations — details needed to run camps and events safely, including dietary and medical requirements.
A special word about children
Information about children is provided by parents or guardians, is visible only to the leaders who need it, and is never published, sold or used for any purpose beyond the safe running of our programs. Photos of identifiable children are used only with a parent or guardian's permission.
How we collect it
Directly from you — by email, through the mail-to forms on this website, by phone, on paper forms at your outpost, or at events. The forms on this site simply open your own email app; nothing you type is stored on this website or sent to a third-party server.
Why we collect it
- To respond to enquiries and connect families with local outposts.
- To run weekly meetings, camps and events safely.
- To screen, train and support volunteer leaders.
- To fulfil Supply House orders and meet our legal and ACNC obligations.
Who we share it with
Only the people who need it, and never for sale. Local leaders see the family details needed to care for their crews; the national team sees what is needed for training, events and orders; regulators such as the ACNC may receive information where the law requires it. That is the full list.
How we protect it
Information is held in access-limited accounts and secure physical records used only by authorised team members. We keep personal information only as long as it is needed, or as the law requires, and then destroy or de-identify it.
Cookies & analytics
This website uses no cookies, no analytics trackers and no advertising pixels. Your visit here is your business.
Access & correction
You may ask at any time to see the personal information we hold about you or your child, or to have it corrected or deleted. Email info@rangers.net.au with the subject line "Privacy request" and we will respond within a reasonable time — at no charge.
Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled personal information, please contact us first at info@rangers.net.au so we can put it right. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be published on this page with its "last updated" date shown above.
