For more than sixty years, Rangers Australia has been the national home of Royal Rangers — a Christ-centred mentoring ministry where young people build character, learn outdoor skills, earn badges and discover lifelong leadership.
One campfire at a time.
Royal Rangers began with a simple conviction: boys and girls learn best by doing — and they grow best beside adults who genuinely know them. Since 1964, that conviction has been lighting campfires across Australia.
Today, local outposts meet weekly in churches and community halls across the country. Trained volunteer leaders mentor small crews through four age-group programs — from a five-year-old's first craft badge to a seventeen-year-old planning their own expedition.
Our National Supply House in Bundamba, Queensland keeps every outpost equipped with uniforms, patches, merit materials and resources — the quiet engine room behind thousands of weekly meetings.

Evangelise
Every young person deserves to hear good news in a way they can grasp — around a fire, on a trail, in the middle of real life. Faith is caught as much as it is taught, and our leaders model it week in, week out.
Equip
Skills you can hold in your hands: pitching a tent, cooking a meal, reading a map, rendering first aid, speaking up in a group. Merit badges mark the milestones, but the real equipment is confidence.
Empower
We hand over real responsibility early — leading a game, teaching a skill, planning a camp. By their teens, Rangers are mentoring the crews behind them. Leadership is practised, not just promised.

Nothing matters more than the safety of the young people in our care. Rangers Australia maintains child-safe practices across every outpost:
- Leaders are screened and hold valid working-with-children clearances for their state
- Leaders complete formal training through our Leadership Training Academy
- Two-adult minimums and open-door practices at every meeting and camp
- Clear reporting pathways for any concern, taken seriously every time
